Former Associate Dean Dr. Jennifer Schulz, is currently a visiting scholar at England’s Cambridge University. Dr. Schulz was recently named a Fellow of the Winkler Institute for Dispute Resolution at Osgoode Hall Law School and appointed a Research Fellow at Birkbeck College School of Law. We thank Dr. Schulz for her work and dedication to the Associate Dean’s Office.
Associate Dean Parkes plans to further enhance and build upon the long and proud tradition of achievement and innovation in research at Robson Hall. She researches and teaches in the areas of Constitutional and Human Rights Law, Criminal Law, Employment Law, Prisoner’s Rights, Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms, Sentencing & Penal Policy and Equality Rights. Parkes’ scholarly work seeks to address the challenges and possibilities in how rights claims are framed and adjudicated. She is currently exploring this topic in two major SSHRC funded projects, as principal investigator on Prisoners’ Rights in Punitive Times: Investigating Prison Complaint and Inspection Systems and co-investigator on Disabling Poverty and Enabling Citizenship: Examining Exclusions and Identifying Opportunities for the Full Participation of Canadians with Disabilities.
