Dr. Virginia Torrie presented a paper called ” Canadian Corporate Reoganization, 1920′ -2000’s” at the 42nd Annual Conference of the Social Sciences History Association in Montreal on November 3rd.

Dr. Torrie’s research was supported by a grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, and was featured as part of a panel she co-organized with Dr. Camden Hutchinson on “Twentieth Century Developments in Economic Institutions”.  Dr. Torrie also served as a Discussant for a panel on “Historical GIS and the Study of War”, based on her expertise in the emerging use of Geographic Information System (GIS) methodologies for studying history.
