Dr. Nagarathna Annappa, is an Associate Professor at the National Law School, India University in Bangalore. She is also the Coordinator of the Advanced Centre on Research, Development and Training in Cyber Law and Forensics. Dr. Annappa is a visiting scholar at Robson Hall, Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba throughout February, 2018.

Students (both graduate and undergraduate) and Faculty are invited to please join Dr. Annappa for lunch followed by a seminar on Indian Approaches to Regulating Cyber Crimes – An Overview, on Thursday, February 15 in the Faculty Lounge.  Lunch, courtesy of the CHRR will be available at noon with the seminar from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m..

Dr. Annappa’s areas of research and teaching interest include Criminal Law, Cyber Law and Cyber Forensics and Medical Laws. She has edited four books on Cyber Law and authored chapters on Cyber Crime Law. Her research projects, “Patient’s Rights under Consumer Law” [2010] and “Terrorism Laws of India” [2014] are published by the Karnataka Institute for Law and Parliamentary Affairs [KILPAR], Government of Karnataka. She is the Member, Editorial Review Board, CMR Journal of Innovation and Research, an internationally Peer Reviewed Journal.

She was a fellow at the ASLI [Asian Law Institute], National University of Singapore with the Visiting – Research Fellowship Award, 2012 and has lectured internationally on Terrorism and Human Rights.
