MILSA & CBC Indigenous Co-Host Live Discussion On A Year Since Gerald Stanley/Colten Boushie Case

When: Thursday, February 7th
Time: 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM
Where: Room 206, Robson Hall Faculty of Law (224 Dysart Road, University of Manitoba)

It’s been one year since the delivery of the Gerald Stanley verdict, the tragic case that took the life of a young Indigenous man, Colten Boushie. The conversation around injustice for Indigenous people affected by the criminal justice system continues today, as it has for decades. The call for justice reform is louder than ever.

Co-hosted by CBC Indigenous and the Manitoba Indigenous Law Students Association, a live Facebook discussion engages law students from University of Manitoba’s Robson Hall Faculty of Law. How do we impact positive change? What role do law schools play in addressing systemic flaws? All are invited to attend and listen to the future of justice system – up and coming lawyers of all backgrounds.

The livestreamed discussion is set to happen on Thursday, February 7th from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM in Room 206 at Robson Hall. Attendees and discussion participants are invited to stay afterwards for light refreshments.
