Course Content

This course is designed to familiarize students with various legal regimes concerning the environment, which involve domestic jurisdiction and international law.  Attention will be focused on several aspects, such as the division of power and the Environment in Canada, administrative regulations, environmental assessments and the enforcement of environmental rules with particular attention to public participation.  The international side of the course will be directed to the study of general principles applicable for the protection of the environment, state responsibility and dispute resolution and the effect that global rules have in the Canadian environmental law context.
