Admission To First Year

Changes  Effective 2016-17 Application Cycle – Approved by Senate on January 7, 2015:

  • Last LSAT accepted will be December in year of application.
  • Deadline to complete the minimum of 20 one term, or 10 two term (or combination thereof), courses will be Fall Term in year of application.

Eligibility Requirements For All Categories to First Year Law

  • Academic Requirements
    • Minimum of 20 one term or 10 two term, or combination thereof, university degree level courses (60 credit hours)
      OR
    • If an applicant is 26 years of age by September 1 in the year admission is sought, a minimum of 10 one term or 5 two term, or combination thereof, university degree level courses (30 credit hours). If more than 30 credit hours are complete, the AGPA will be calculated using all completed courses.
  • LSAT – Law School Admissions Test

There are 3 categories of admission to First Year (please use the right menu to navigate):

  • Canadian Indigenous Applicant Category
  • Index Score (regular) Category
  • Individual Consideration Category

The Juris Doctor, J.D., is a three-year degree program.
