About Us

Found at the south end of the University of Manitoba’s Fort Garry campus, Robson Hall is dedicated to educating law students in a progressive learning environment, conducting ground-breaking research, and serving the legal profession and the community as a source of knowledge and expertise.

In addition to providing a strong “generalist” education, the faculty is developing three areas of focus relevant to the legal and social challenges facing Manitoba, Canada and the world in the 21st century: Aboriginal Law, Business Law and Human Rights Law.

The Faculty of Law at Robson Hall is Manitoba’s law school and has an integral connection to the legal profession in the province. This connection enriches both the learning opportunities of the students and the scholarly work of the academics, creating an environment that fosters critical engagement with the pressing legal questions of our time.

The Faculty is home to the Asper Chair in International Business and Trade, the Desautels Centre for Private Enterprise and the Law, and the Centre for Human Rights Research — as well as to a range of journals including the Manitoba Law Journal and the new, interdisciplinary Canadian Journal of Human Rights.
