Borden Ladner Gervais LLP offers an annual award of $1,500 for students in the Faculty of Law at the University of Manitoba.  The scholarship will be offered to an undergraduate student who:

(1)          in September 2019 will be enrolled as a full-time student in the Second Year of the J.D. program in the Faculty of Law;

(2)          has demonstrated academic excellence based on a minimum degree grade point average of 3.0 in their First Year of studies at the Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba; and

(3)          has demonstrated a commitment to professional and service excellence by consistently expanding his or her knowledge of the law, demonstrating the highest standards of integrity, offering innovative ideas, taking a collaborative approach, and contributing to the community.

Candidates must submit a statement (maximum 750 words) to the selection committee in which they describe how they have demonstrated a commitment to professional and service excellence.

Students wishing to be considered for the Borden Ladner Gervais Professional Excellence Award are asked to submit their statement to Associate Dean Bruce Curran, c/o Chenise Robert, Room 303, Robson Hall, or electronically to no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019, indicating how they meet the criteria for the award.  It is not necessary to submit academic transcripts or letters of reference with your application.

The recipient of the award will be announced in September 2019.
