Application Deadline:
The annual application deadline for Canadian, US and International Applicants to the LLM program is December 15.
Applications are reviewed on a committee basis. The Admissions committee for the Faculty of Law reviews applications from January to March.
Applications open up to 18 months prior to the start of term.
- Admission to the program requires at least a B average (3.0 GPA) in the last two previous years of full-time university study (60 credit hours), and possession of a common law or civil law degree (LL.B. or J.D. or equivalent).
- Proficiency in English can be demonstrated by:
i) Possessing a university degree from Canada or one of the countries on the English Language Proficiency Test Exemption List.
ii) Successfully completing an English Language Proficiency Test.
All applicants must be admitted by the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Graduate Students.
*The term primary language is defined as that language which is most commonly used in homes, communities and daily commerce in your native country.

Recommendation Letters | Three (3) letters of recommendation are required. If possible, two of the letters should be from academics. One letter of recommendation may be from an employer. |

Given the competitive quality of the LL.M. program, satisfaction of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.
Completion of our research intensive, thesis-based LL.M. does not entitle the degree-holder to practice law in Canada.
